About Tender
Founded in 2003, Tender is a charity which educates young people and the adults supporting them about healthy relationships through creative programmes.
We are the only UK charity focused solely on preventing relationship abuse in the lives of young people.
Our workshops use drama and the arts to enable young people to engage with sensitive topics from a safe distance, develop empathy and to “rehearse” for real-life scenarios.
During our projects, young people can explore their rights, expectations and choices in relationships in a fun and age-appropriate way. By educating them to recognise the early warning signs of unhealthy relationships, we prevent them from becoming victims or perpetrators and empower them to have healthy relationships based on equality and respect.
Tender have over 17 years’ experience delivering programmes with diverse groups of children and young people, who continually inspire us to create resources which are enjoyable, relevant and reflect their needs.
Our expertise informed the creation of the new Relationships, Sex and Health Education curriculum for schools, which we continue to support through projects and resources for schools.
We are proud that, as a result of our programmes:
